Ida Melvina “Dale” Peddicord Margrave, age 95, of Harriman passed away on November 22, 2024, at Signature Healthcare of Rockwood. She was a life-long resident of Harriman; being born on April 1, 1929, in Roane County, Tennessee to the late Noah Lee Peddicord and Susie Sitzlar Peddicord. She was named after her paternal grandmother, the late Melvina “Millie” Isham Peddicord. Dale was the ultimate yard seller who set up her wares in various locations including 17 years at her booth, Granny’s Place, in Flea World where she would give away as much as she sold because she never wanted family, friend, or stranger to do without. Her grandchildren loved to help her at yard sales when they visited. They also loved when she went to her little notebook to tell them that she had made $50 for them selling their old toys and clothes.

Dale wore many hats in her life. She worked at Roane Hosiery for approximately 30 years. She cleaned houses and was affectionately known as “Granny” to her children she babysat.

She was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society.

Dale didn’t get her driver’s license until she was 40 years old and loved driving and traveling to visit her children in Georgia and Virginia. She also loved taking bus trips with her sisters and had visited 48 of the United States even being seen on camera outside of the Today Show.
