Elizabeth Kelly "Betsy" Ganies Tackett

Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly Gaines Tackett, age 93 of Harriman passed away Sunday January 4, 2015 at her home. She worked as the central treasurer in the Bristol, Virginia school system until she retired. Mrs. Tackett also volunteered her time to the Bristol Cancer Society and Bristol Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years: Benjamin Fred Tackett

She is survived by her two sons: Walter B. Tackett and Benjamin Fred Tackett Jr. One sister: Mary Jane Fisher Hintz of Tallahassee, Florida Three grandchildren: Kelly, Justin, and Chelsea Two great grandchildren: Ethan and Abigail Lillion And lots of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday January 9, 2015 at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. The memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM with Bro. Josh Head officiating. The inurnment will be held Saturday January 10, 2015 in the Glenwood/Shelby Hills Cemetery in Bristol, Tennessee at 1:00 PM.
