Mr. Gordon V. Kerley, age 89 of Harriman, went to be with the Lord Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Harriman Care and Rehab Center. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Gordon was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sadly missed by many friends and family. He was very devoted to God, his church and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Dolly Kerley. A brother: Milo Kerley. And one sister: Edna Shaffer. He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Mary Ruth Kerley. Three sons and daughters-in-law: Danny and Marilyn Kerley of Kingston, Garry and Irene Kerley, Jerry and Janet Kerley all of Harriman. Two daughters and a son-in-law: Connie and Jeff Aytes and Cathy Spakes all also of Harriman. Nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday April 20, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Kenny Isham and Ronnie Clark officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in Roane Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. A very special "Thank You" to the staff at Harriman Care and Rehab and to Vicki Long for their loving care, words cannot express how much you meant to the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to the Grace Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
