Hazel Deloris Daugherty

Mrs. Hazel Deloris "Lois" Cross Daugherty, age 71, of the Armes Chapel Community in Wartburg, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Lois was a loving, kind-hearted person who consistently put the needs of others before her own. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing trips with her sisters and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her ultimate pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Hobart F. Daugherty.

Her parents: Earlie "Earl" and Norma Geraldine Cross.

Three brothers: Garren "Gary" Cross, Farren Cross, and Michael "Mikey" Cross.

And one sister, Shelia Cross Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her four sons and two daughters-in-law: Chris and Cassandra Hooks of Kingston, Michael Hooks of Wartburg, Matthew and Lisa Hooks of Sunbright, and Donnie Wayne Daugherty of Oliver Springs.

She is also survived by her three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Rhonda and Richard Cox of Wartburg, Sandy and Lawrence Long of Wartburg, and Eva "Erlene" King of Wartburg.

Lois leaves behind her ten grandchildren, whom she always referred to as "her babies": Isaiah Hooks, Garrett Guettner, Peyton Hooks (and wife Kayley), Matthew Bunch, Kadynce Hooks, Elijah Hooks, Emily Patterson, Markkus Bunch, Michael Hooks, and Jordan Hooks; and her adored great-grandson, Noah Hooks. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends Friday October 2, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM with Brother Rick Kirkland and Brother Charles Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Armes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Wartburg, Tennessee.
