James Harvey Walker

Mr. James Harvey Walker, age 83 of Wartburg, passed away on Monday June 8, 2026, at Life Care Center of Morgan County. He was a 1962 graduate of Sunbright School and was proud that he did so with perfect attendance from kindergarten through graduation. He worked as a manager for Amco Plastics in Cincinnati, Ohio for more than 40 years, and was instrumental in developing the invention in drawstrings on plastic bags. James was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, and boating, but especially riding his motorcycle.

He is preceded in death by his parents: William Harvey and Lou Ester Smith Walker.

Two brothers: William Leon and Franklin Walker.

And two wives: Joyce and Donna Walker.

He is survived by his wife: Vivian Presley Winters.

His stepchildren: Gerald Van Winkle, David Barker, Marc Winters, Cory Winters, Catherine Van Winkle Smith, and Tammy Martin.

Three sisters: Jo Ann Walker Henry, Faye Ruth Walker Sexton, and Sandy Walker Spurling.

A special nephew: Bobby Walker.

Along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg with Chaplain Jonathann Angel officiating.
