Jayden Lee Smith

Mr. Jayden Lee “Kurt” Smith, age 17, of Deer Lodge, passed away Sunday February 1, 2026, at his home. He was a student at Sunbright High School. Kurt enjoyed playing guitar, gaming, and recently discovered welding, which he was very excited about. Jayden was at home in the outdoors and enjoyed working on the farm with his Papaw David, where he loved to fish and ride four-wheelers. Whatever he did, he did with his whole heart.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: David “Dude” Huntley, James Howard Smith, Billy Joe and Mary Sexton, and Mike and Barb Morano.

He is survived by his parents; Amanda Smith and Mike Morano, and Alfonso Sexton.

Three sisters: Kiley Smith, Paige and Roy Hall, Sarah and Nathan Sharp.

One brother: A.J. and Chesney Sexton.

His grandmother: Sally Huntley.

His girlfriend: Lora Keith.

Along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other friends, and loved ones.

The family will receive friends Tuesday February 10, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 1:00 PM in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Deer Lodge.
