Mrs. Mary Luvenia Goodin, age 90, of Harriman, formally of Mississippi Gulf Coast, awaited Jesus at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. The angels came to fly her into Jesus' arms on Monday May 30, 2011. She was universally known as "Granny" and had an unsurpassed green thumb and never met an animal she didn't like. She was preceded in her journey by her husband: Robert M. (R.M.) Goodin. Her son: Robert C. (Bob) Goodin. She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Wales of Harriman and Frances Berens and her husband Larry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. And one son-in-law: Roy Wood. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as her faithful canine companions, Mazie and Jane. One nephew: David Gray of Spring City. The family will meet at Piney Grove Cemetery, Midtown Thursday June 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Nature Conservatory at www.nature.org and/or North Shore Animal League at www.animalleague.org or any organization aiming to protect nature and animal welfare.
