Robert Hamby

Mr. Robert L. Hamby, age 79, of Wartburg, passed away Thursday July 24, 2025, at Life Care Center of Morgan County. He was born on April 25, 1946, on Greasy Creek to the late Carl and Ollie Ellis Hamby. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife: Joann Pollard Hamby.

His stepdaughter: Kelly Brooks.

His parents: Carl and Ollie Hamby.

Two brothers: Tony and Vernon Hamby.

Two sisters: Helen Diden and Geraldine Hamby.

One brother-in-law: Jim Peters.

One sister-in-law: Colleen Hamby.

And one nephew: Gayson Peters.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Mary Ellen Hamby, Kevin and Heather Hamby.

Two stepsons: Michael Stewart and his wife Shawn, and Allen Bunch.

Two brothers and one sister-in-law: Truman and Sharon Hamby, and Leland Hamby.

Three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Carla and Jerry Landrum, Donna and Dean Swint, and Carol Peters.

One brother-in-law: Dale Diden.

His grandchildren: Makayla Hamby, Katie Mills and her husband Kenny, Nate, Erin, and Clayton Hamby, Jesse and Jenna Stewart, Dustin Parks and his wife Marissa, Keith Brooks and his wife Alicia, and Ashley Brooks.

Four great grandchildren: Jax Young, Aleigha, Adam and Barrett Brooks.

Along with a host of other friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends Sunday July 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM with Rev. Michael Hamby officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery.
