Rolland Edward Thompson

Mr. Rolland E Thompson, age 71, of Oakdale, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday May 22nd, 2019 at UT Medical Center. Rolland was well known as "Smokey Jr" and "T". He was a dedicated fireman for 30 years, a veteran of the United States Air Force, avid Harley rider, loving father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Lila Thompson, sister: Naomi
He is survived by his son: Daryl Thompson, and daughter in law Tracey Thompson.
His daughter: Michelle Thompson.
Daughter: Marla and Son: Steven
Grandchildren; Whitney Seiber, Matthew Thompson, and Matthew Weaver.
Brothers and sisters Dorthy Chambers, Carl Thompson, Wanda Crass, and David Thompson.
We say a special thanks to UT Medical Center Trauma Unit for their excellent and compassionate care.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 26, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Matthew Thompson officiating. Graveside services will be Monday afternoon at 4:00 PM in Emory Heights Cemetery. All riders who will be attending the graveside service are encouraged to bring their bike to ride in the funeral procession on Monday. In honor of Rolland the family requests to wear Harley attire.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Rolland's name sent to Pets for Vets, Inc at  P.O. Box 10860 Wilmington, NC 28404.
