Ronald Elwood Widner Jr.

Jun 4, 1965 — Sep 14, 2026

Ronald Elwood "Ronnie" Widner Jr. was born on June 4, 1965, in Bristol, Tennessee. Ronnie was a man who knew how to fill a room not only with his personality and laughter, but especially with his voice.

Ronnie's greatest passion in life was singing. He was incredibly talented and loved sharing that gift with others. He also enjoyed thrifting, carpentry, spending time with his family, entertaining, fishing, boxing and joking around. There was rarely a dull moment when Ronnie was around, and those who knew him will forever carry stories and memories that bring a smile.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Elwood Widner Sr.; his mother, Brenda "B.J." Summers; his stepfather, Lige Harrison; his grandmother, Margaret Cantrell; and many beloved aunts and uncles.

Ronnie leaves behind his beloved partner in life, Kelly Linck, who shared his life, love, and many treasured memories with him.

He was a loving father to Joshua Earl Widner (Taylor), Dianna "Kayleigh" Dollins (Scottie), and Ashley Brooke Matthews (Colman). He also loved his bonus children, Allyssa Koontz, (Alan), Blake Koontz (Katie), Tanner Sellinger (Hailey) and Carter Sellinger.

Ronnie was a proud grandfather to Michelle (Wyatt), Carissa (Jon), Kaitlyn, Karter (Payton) Kaylin, Joshua, and Atlas, and was blessed to become a great-grandfather to Bellamy.

Ronnie was also a beloved brother and Uncle Roo Roo; He is survived by his sisters, Lee Widner Isaacson and Staci Lynn Harrison Fugate, along with Nephew Race Brannon, Niece Karlee Nations, and many other beloved nieces, relatives, and friends.

To his niece and nephew, Ronnie was affectionately known as "Uncle Roo Roo."

Ronnie fought an incredibly difficult battle with tremendous strength. Those who loved him watched him fight, and the word strong hardly seems enough to describe the determination he showed. Although his family would have given anything for more time with him, they find comfort in knowing that Ronnie is no longer fighting or suffering. God gives peace knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven, walking streets of gold and, undoubtedly, singing again.
