Shelia Jo Kirkland Clark, age 86, of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026.
Shelia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. Clark; her parents, Joseph and Myrtle Kirkland; and her eight siblings.
She leaves behind her loving daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Richard Thompson; her cherished granddaughters and their husbands, Brittany Aiken and Buzz Parrinello, and Chelsea and Johnny Baker; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Emma Snapp, Johnny Baker, Rylie Jane Baker, and Haley Marie Baker.
Shelia also leaves behind her honorary daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Thad Johnson, and their family, Justis Johnson and the late Josh Johnson; as well as her honorary daughter and son-in-law, Casuarina Trombly-Tzoganis and Vasilis Tzoganis, and their children, Dahlia Berroa-Trombly, Iris Trombly-Tzoganis, and Cypress Trombly-Tzoganis. She loved these families as if they were her own.
Above all, Shelia loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and grace she extended to everyone she met. She lived with the hope, joy, and love that came from her relationship with Christ, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in His presence.
Shelia embraced life with a fearless spirit, a joyful heart, and a genuine love for people. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with kindness, regardless of their background or culture. Her warmth, compassion, and infectious smile made friends wherever she went.
She found happiness in traveling, especially when it meant spending time at the beach, one of her favorite places. She adored children, treasured time with her family, and took immense pride in her daughter, Lisa, her son-in-law, Rick, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love for her late husband, John, remained steadfast throughout her life.
Shelia also found great joy in square dancing, where she formed many lasting friendships and created countless happy memories. Whether she was dancing, traveling, or simply sharing a conversation, she lived each day with enthusiasm and gratitude.
More than anything, Shelia will be remembered for the way she loved. She had an extraordinary gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, generosity, courage, and joy. She touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the love she shared, the memories she created, and the example she set of living life with an open heart. While they mourn her absence, they rejoice in the promise that she is reunited with those who have gone before her and is forever at home with her Savior.
