William Henry

Cookeville

William A. Henry, born on February 2, 1953, transitioned from this life on Friday December 19, 2025, at a friend's residence in Hilham, TN. Known to some as Bill, and affectionately call "Gypsy' by many, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was a uniquely talented individual with a passion for gemstones, unique rocks, and fossils, a love for animals, and a desire to share both with others. He was also a gifted glass-etching artist and a natural musician who could strum nearly any tune on a guitar. He proudly served his country as an Army Vietnam veteran.

As he often said, "I'm alive, but I'm not living." Once he grew weaker, these words resonated deeply. He eventually succumbed to his many illnesses, surrounded by love and care.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mildred A & Felix J. Henry.

His grandparents.

First wife: Ruth Deatrick, with whom he rekindled a relationship years ago.

Many close friends, and several fur children, who were eagerly waiting for him.

He is survived by and loved deeply by his sister: Susan Henry Hill.

Niece: Adrian Kindred.

Nephews: Justin Isham and Grant Kindred.

Great niece: Marissa Sutton.

Great nephews: Corey and Hurley Kindred.

Brother-in-law: Steve Jackson.

And several beloved cousins.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to his supportive, long-term friends, including Pete and Ronda Ventimiglia, Sparky & Tracy, and Cyndi & Worm Thomen, along with the many fur children of each of these friends, who shared their companionship with him to brighten his days and provided loving care, as well as the many acts of kindness.

Special thanks also go to Hospice of Tennessee and Homestead Home Health care, as well as the many caretakers, for their compassionate support during his final weeks.

This is not the final goodbye. Friends and family firmly believe he will be waiting to greet us with open arms when our time comes to leave this earthly world.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Davis Funeral Home in Warburg is honored to serve the family of Mr. William A. Henry during this time.
