Mrs. Dorothy Snow, age 85 of Harriman, passed away December 25, 2020 at Tennova Healthcare in Turkey Creek. She was born January 26, 1935 in New River. Dorothy was a devoted mother to 5 children and mammie to 9 grandkids and 16 great grandkids. She was a small frame lady but a firecracker if you mistreated one of her kids or grandkids but still had a heart of gold and would give you the last penny she had or the shirt off her back. She was the rock and glue that kept the family together. Before her hands got bad, she enjoyed crocheting and crafting. She really missed all of her close friends that she’s outlived except for one, Linda “Renee” Griffith of Petros, whom she still talked to on the phone.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Wilse Bray & Oma Seiber Giles.
Sister Darlis Bray Burford.
Nephew: Jimmy Campbell.
Son-in-law: Johnny Manis.
She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law: Keith & Pam Smith of Athens AL, and James Bray of Harriman.
Three daughters and sons-in-law: Frankie & Lloyd Allen Paxton of Lancing, Donna Capps of Harriman, and Michelle & Jim Kilby of Oakdale.
Brother & sister-in-law: Steve & Deanna Seibers of Sunbright.
Two sisters & brothers-in-law: Hazell & Harold Campbell of Knoxville, and Joan & Earl Headrick of Wartburg.
Six grandsons: Pete & Melinda Wright of Wartburg, Mark & Anna Richardson, Timmy & Lacy Burnette all of Harriman, Travis Bray & Jana Barron of Rockwood, Brandon Smith, Brad & Regina Smith of Athens AL.
Three granddaughters: Ashley & Mike Roberts, and Morgan Capps all of Harriman, Tia & Henry Yau currently serving 2nd term in the US Navy.
She was also blessed with 16 great grandchildren.
Five nephews, the family wants to thank her special nephew Derrick Headrick for showing her so much love by calling and checking on her. He always asked about her wherever you seen him.
The family will receive friends Monday December 28, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Wesley Duncan officiating. Graveside service will follow in the Paxton cemetery in Lancing.
