Douglas Clyde Swicegood

Mr. Douglas Clyde Swicegood, age 71 of Lancing, passed away Saturday August 14, 2021 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Capt. Swicegood retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections after 31 years of service, having worked at both Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary and the Morgan County Regional Correctional Facility.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Bonnie Mullins Swicegood.

His mother and father-in-law: George and Marjorie Davis.

One nephew: Louie Swicegood.

And one sister-in-law: Sharon Swicegood.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Patsy Davis Swicegood.

Two daughters and sons-in-law: Emily and Wayne Allison, and Sarah and Joshua Clark.

Five grandchildren: Jimmy Adams and his wife Carrigan, Michael Allison, Alex Susak, Samantha Susak,, and Carolina Swicegood.

One great grandson: Jace Adams.

Four brothers and three sisters-in-law: David and Ann Swicegood, Alan Swicegood, Darrell and Carol Swicegood, and Denis and Tammy Swicegood.

Brothers and sisters-in-law: Kathy and Russell Brock, Ricky and Robin Davis, Jerry and Amie Davis, Sharon and Todd Thomas, and Steven Davis.

And several treasured nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
