Marcella Mary (Nardinger) Kalbenbach

Mrs. Marcella Mary Kaldenbach, age 88, passed away February 28, 2023 at her home in Harriman, TN.  Marcella was born September 25, 1934, in Everett, Washington.  After graduating from high school in Everett, she enrolled in nursing school in pursuit of her life-long dream.  While attending school in Spokane, she met Charles Kaldenbach, her future husband.  She and Charles were married for 61 years.

Charles and Marcella’s life together took them to diverse places such as Washington, Texas, Maryland and Florida before retiring to East Tennessee, where they lived out their lives overlooking the beautiful Emory River.

In addition to her roles as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and her career as a Registered Nurse, mom was a prolific seamstress and quilter, hobbies she shared with her mother and daughter Theresa.  She also enjoyed birdwatching, her dachshunds, and nature (except snakes!).  she loved the different birds that frequented the feeders that lined her porch, the occasional pileated woodpecker that visited her trees, and bald eagles soaring above the Emory River.  She could sense their presence and was quick to share her observations with whomever was with her at the time.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Kaldenbach.

Parents: Harry & Hilda Nardinger.

Brother: Greg Nardinger.

And two great grandsons.

She is survived by five sons: Eugene, Victor, Brian, Kevin and Michael.

Two daughters: Theresa and Michele

18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Sister: Barbara

Brother: David.

And a host of nephews and nieces.

Mom was our matriarch, and we will miss her dearly.

The family will have a service at a later date.
